You and a lot of other people can’t afford the up-front costs of electrification, Richard. I’ve focused on solving the engineering problem. Rewiring America (rewiringamerica.org) is working on the political/financial problem (such as with the Zero-emission. Homes Act of 2021). You’re right, we need to get the right rebates, low-interest loans, and other price supports to make sure that buying electric is the cheapest consumer choice. The more people buy EVs, the more the scale, the more the price comes down relative to ICEs, the better the technology for making a big truck that can tow heavy loads. We’ve already seen the Ford pick-up EV. But we have to make financing the transition a priority.
